Jean Dhority, a correpondence course graduate from Colorado, and her husband, Mark, will be soon moving to Mexico to be full-time missionaries among the Tarahumaras of Copper Canyon.

In January they were in Mexico for a short mission trip to the area, where Jean had the opportunity of helping with a few births.  Jean learned that the Tarahumaras have the fifth highest maternal mortality rate and the highest death rate in the world for children under 5.

They are coveting your prayers as they prepare to give themselves to meeting the desperate needs and pushing back the darkness.

"Arise, shine; for your light has come!  And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.  For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.  The gentiles will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising."  Isa. 60:1-3

It was interesting that Jean had the opportunity to meet another Midwifery Institute of America correspondence graduate in Mexico.  Michelle Hopkins is on a second mission trip to the same area.  Neither of them knew each other before meeting in Copper Canyon.
